The 11th annual Carson Valley Days 5K Walk-Jog-Run endured windy conditions and a delayed start due to emergency response to a fire south of town, but in the end more than 100 participants successfully completed the course.
This year, the race — which travels north on Highway 395 through Gardnerville and Minden before turning around south on the same road and eventually finishing at Lampe Park —Â was hosted by Tahoe Youth & Family Services.
Military veterans were honored prior to the race with a moment of silence for those lost and the playing of the National Anthem.
Gregory Carman was the fastest overall finisher, completing the course with a time of of 18 minutes, 28.6 seconds. Addison Gregory was the top female, finishing in 23 minutes, 0.2 seconds.
