Great Outdoors Health Fair A Success

Carson Valley Medical Center hosted its first Great Outdoors Health Fair over the weekend, marking a shift from the annual health which had been traditionally held during the summer months.

This year CVMC was able to perform 331 free health screenings or flu shots during the course of the fair.

Care Flight and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were on scene with their big equipment, Douglas County CERT conducted CPR training, Valley EyeCare performed free vision screenings, Gardnerville Tumbleweeds had an obstacle course set up for the kids, Citizen’s Patrol had a Prescription Drug Roundup booth set up and Gardnerville Health & Rehab, Carson Valley Swim Center and Carson Valley Trails were all on hand with great information and fun giveaways.

We’re already beginning to plan for next year — mark your calendars — Oct. 19, 2019.
