Douglas County’s Community Emergency Response Team will host a Safety Day emergency preparedness event Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lampe Park in Gardnerville.
Is your family prepared for fires, earthquakes or flooding? This event serves as a great starting point to develop your emergency plans.
Learn where to go and what to do. Build disaster and evacuation supply kits. Demonstrations will be provided for CPR training, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit & Bomb Squad, Care Flight, Ember House and fire extinguisher training. Food and drink concessions will be available along with many vendors.
Thirty exhibitors will be on site including East Fork Fire Protection District and the sheriff’s office; Nevada Division of Forestry; Dept. of Land Management, Douglas Dispatch, Flood Control, Carson Valley Medical Center, Ham Radio clubs, Citizen’s Patrol, and the Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad unit to share the latest equipment and information.
The latest emergency apparatus and equipment will be on display.
