Carson Valley Medical Center staff participated in a pilot training program for Rural Trauma Team Development on Friday with help from our community partners Renown Health and East Fork Fire Protection District.
Representatives from Renown and the University of Nevada School of Medicine shared their experience and skills with participants in the program.
CVMC physicians, registered nurses, clerks, respiratory therapists and techs participated in classroom training, skills stations and team-based trauma scenarios throughout the day, honing their skills to continue to ensure Carson Valley residents are presented with the highest levels of care when they come through our doors.
The day was arranged by CVMC’s Emergency Medicine Chief of Staff Targhee Oeveraas, MD, and CVMC Emergency RN Maria Knight. The training program will be conducted at rural facilities around Northern Nevada in the coming months.
